Dressage in the Sierra

Dressage in the Sierra is typically our biggest show of the season. It is USDF, USEF and CDS recognized. This year will very likely be our last year of Dressage in the Sierra at Reno Livestock Events Center. Let's make it extra special!

Skagen Designs Ltd. has again committed to being the major sponsor for Dressage in the Sierra and will be furnishing prizes. SNC member and competitor, Charlotte Jorst, is the owner and designer of Skagen products. Thank you so much Charlotte for your generous contribution to the chapter - again!

As you may or may not know, there is a tremendous amount of preparation and planning that go into a show of this magnitude. Many volunteers are needed to make the show run smoothly. This year is no exception! There is a volunteer sign up sheet available on the web page with instructions on how to add your name to the list. If you are interested in signing up but having trouble figuring it out or have questions, please contact Jennifer Smith, Wendy Hays or Steve Ting.

Positions that need filling include:

We really need volunteers to help out and hope to hear from everyone. Please consider volunteering~any time is better than no time!

Also, please check out the sponsorship form for Dressage in the Sierra. Sponsorships from chapter members, their families and friends, and local professionals and businesses are essential to maintaining the show's tradition of excellence.

Each sponsorship, from the smallest to the largest, is greatly appreciated. Please take a moment to look at the list of sponsorship opportunities and select the one that best meets your needs. Your support will be recognized in event materials, mailings, and the chapter newsletter, as well as at the show. Funds raised help us to attract top-notch competitors through prizes, cash awards, trophies and first-rate facilities, including the Reno Livestock Events Center. Please consider being a sponsor for this show. Thank you for helping our organization ensure the success of Dressage in the Sierra.

Prize lists and entry forms for this show will be arriving in your mail box soon.

Sierra Feed and The Saddlery

If you've been to the web site recently, you may have noticed that we've added a new link "Sierra Feed - Our Sponsor"!

Ken Cliff, owner of Sierra Feed, has expanded and opened The Saddlery (formerly The English Shop). The Saddlery will carry all types of English and Western tack. If you need something for yourself or your horse, please contact Ken at The Saddlery at 853-6700.

Ken and Sierra Feed have sponsored and contributed greatly to our chapter over the years. Now we can show our thanks by supporting Sierra Feed and The Saddlery and giving them our business.

Diane Kernoodle Clinic Update

The previously scheduled Diane Kernoondle Freestyle Clinic had to be cancelled as Diane was quite ill. Jen is working hard trying to make arrangements to reschedule the clinic and we will keep everyone posted as to the new dates.

Junior Clinic Update

The Chapter Sponsored Junior Clinic with Judge Donna Richardson is full and the riders names are posted below. Mary Anne is working on the ride times and we will be sending out a separate email with the riders schedules.

AUDITING IS FREE AND ENCOURAGED!!!

The clinic will be held at Equest Training Center, 805 Washoe Dr. in Washoe Valley, July 13th and 14th. There will be a BBQ the first night at Victoria Cliff's house. The chapter will be providing the meat. The rest of the BBQ will be pot luck style. If you are planning to attend, please bring a side dish (salad, veggies, appetizers, etc), or dessert.
