2007 Elections

Ballots for the 2007 Board of Directors are in the mail and should be arriving in everyone's mail box any day now. Thank you to Beth for researching the new CDS guidelines for chapter elections and putting together the Ballot, to Joan Wright for helping advise on the effort, Mary Anne Christensen and Vicki Cliff for folding and stuffing envelopes and to Cindy Hoonhout for folding, stuffing and mailing the ballots. Cindy also generously donated the cost of postage to mail the ballots out. Thank you everyone!

The ballot may be returned and placed in a ballot box at the Holiday Party on Sunday, December 10th or mailed to our post office box. They will be collected on December 10th and counted by the election voting committee. Results of the 2007 election will be announced and posted on our web-site.

2006 SNC Holiday Party and Awards Presentation

Hopefully everyone has already received the email invitation regarding the Holiday party and awards presentation on December 10th from 3pm to 6pm at Southern Cross Stable. If you haven't, there will be a hard copy of the invitation coming out by snail mail and there is also a link to the invitation on the main page of the web site. The party this year will include both our annual holiday party and our awards presentation for 2006 USDF, CDS and SNC awards.

SNC Awards rules can be viewed on the web site by going to "Chapter Info" and then selecting "2006 SNC-CDS Awards Program Rules".

We would like to have folks RSVP. You can RSVP to Beth at curle@mindspring.com or via the yahoogroup. Friends and family are welcome! Please remember that the party is BYOB and potluck goodies are being assigned by name:

Silent Auction

Along with horse drawn hay rides, lots of good food, and the awards ceremony, we will also be holding the SNC Silent Auction. The silent auction is always a good time for everyone and a great fund raiser for the club.

We are still looking for donation items for the auction. If you have an item you would like to donate, please contact Cindy Hoonhout at cindyhnv@yahoo.com

Amateur Clinic

The 2007 CDS Amateur Clinic for the North Region will be held on April 26th-29th at Yarra Yarra Ranch in Pleasanton, Ca. The clinician is Mette Rosencrantz.

The first evening of the clinic will include a required introductory lecture and the following 3 days will be riding sessions. Auditors are invited and encouraged to attend all sessions and participate in the question and answer periods.

All interested members must submit a written application to the SNC Board of Directors no later than January 5th, 2007. Please include in your application your name, horse's name, the level at which you are currently riding, whether or not you have attended the CDS Amateur clinic before and when, and a brief description about how you have participated in club activities.
